I'm getting ready to setup my closed loop on my 92 gallon corner so I can get some decent flow. I currently have the standard corner overflow and 2 Seio 620s giving me about 1400gph (400 + 620 + 620) of flow which is not enough with the quantity of rockwork I have and how tightly some of it fits. I'm sure the back/bottom of my tank has very low flow.
I have an Iwaki 30RLXT rated at 960gph at 4 feet that I will be running through a SCWD (-10% flow at that volume) or 860gph, bringing me to 2200-2300gph total, much more inline with where I want to be.
Anyway, I need help finding some parts to make this work.
I was planning on buying some over the top U-tubes with flow dispersing attachment (the V shaped heads). I already have the SCWD and making up attachments for the pump is a home depot run.
What I NEED, and can't find is 3/4" black piping, a strainer and a hard U tube that can attach to the hard pipe in the tank and to flex tube, or hard tube on the back of the tank for the intake to the pump.
I know this isn't the most glamorous solution, but my tank is not getting drilled anytime soon, so over the top for a closed loop it is.
Thanks in advance if you can point me to a website or local store. I've looked at Marinedepot and Drs Foster and Smith already.
