Hello....I want to see if I can find a pair of Picasso clowns for my wife's birthday. Has anybody seen them any where? I would even order online....
Thanks.

pretty cool looking fish... i read somewhere $500 for a pair wich is ridiculous but if i could get them for considerably less id consider

Naw if they are too expensive I won't get them local...
I know for sure they can be found for way less than $500.
The problem is the wait...orders can take up to 6 months.

Picasso Clowns are different from regular clowns because of the different patterns of white that they get...

Wait so they are just like false perks? How do they get the variation? Is it natural?

I don't think that is natural. Some crazy hybrid science experiment, I guess.

I think Eco-Reef gets them in from time to time for $250.

Matt you mean $250 each?...illal I guess you were right about the local price.
Yeah NYVP, in natural they are a very rare...but through selective breeding they are more obtainable.
Ninjamini, they are more like tru perc because of all the black on them, false percs don't get that much black...right?

No, Larry told me $250 for a pair. I stop by there once a week and have never seen them at Eco-Reef. They got a pair in a few weeks ago from ORA that came DOA.

LMAO......That redneck comment is funny.
My daughter would be so offended, since her mom was Country..
see claims to be a redneck at times...lol

Thanks Matt for the info...$250 a pair is a decent price.
Clowns are heartier than many fish, so the fear of losing a $125 fish is less. Though my wife will never trully know the real price. :)

ORA is the only provider of them, but beware the ones I've seen come out of there lately have looked not near as nice as the pics. Our LFS in the orlando area are selling them 100$ a fish.

Just remember the Picasso look very different when they are younger at times. We ordered in a pair for a guy about a year ago when they first came out, one of his jumped the tank and the two I kept died about a month after arrival. The one survivor is an incredible fish though with great markings. They are pricey but they are a nice fish IMO. We have not even tried to order them since though. BTW Red you will love Discovery Cove, if you are doing the dolphin encounter remember the water in the dolphin tanks is COLD.
