well i sold my orignal stand and canopy so now i can build my new custom stand and canopy the way i want it. the only problem is i don't have tools, i have looked on CS and ebay but if anyone has the tools FS or if i could borrow them that be great. instead of me buying tools just for this project
thinking the tools i will need and im sure im prob missing a few is
table saw
router and table with bits
skill saw
clamps.
going to be needing lumbing plywood,2x4, 2x6, 1x4 trim and molding. if anyone know where there is a small shop that sells lumber vs HD or lowes that might be cheaper.
should start the build in less than a month
any help or comments will help alot
thanks
greg

greg, not sure where summertown is, but I have a second skill saw and a router you can borrow. it is a hand held router and I dont have bits. never even used it.

It would prob be easier just to pay someone to make one for you. I assume if you don't have tools that you don't build things alot for yourself.

But if you are going to forge ahead and build yourself and price of wood is a real concern. Find a house being built and look in the construction dumpster. They throw away alot of good scrap that could be utilized for a small project.

i really like DIY projects and i would feel better knowing i did it myself instead of paying someone, not saying i won't, but right now im going to try and do it myself. thats a great idea about the construction dumpster, i actually use to do some construction long time ago and bumped into my old boss the other day near my house building a house, might ask him. thanks for the idea and comment

Just so everybody knows, this thread will be fine as long as it remains just borrowing tools. That is fine, when it moves to trying to sell tools posts will be disappearing. Just giving fair warning as everything sold/traded here on RC needs to be reef-related and sorry, but power tools fall outside the realm of "reef-related". :)

more then welcome to borrow my tools...i live in dickson though but big shop with small and large tools like table saws and drill presses....etc. Message me if ya like bud.......happy reefing
