Looking for QT advice

I've broke down my 220g FOWLR system due to an ick outbreak. It's been without fish for 7 weeks. During those 7 weeks I redid rock structures, removed part of a very deep/old sand bed and left the lights off.

I've ordered a 500g FOWLR tank that will be here in 4-6 weeks. I'm looking to QTS the right way.

I've got the time, energy, and resources to do just about anything that makes sense so I'd prefer the most thorough and successful method from start to finish.

Recently I drilled 3-20L tanks and tied them together into one system. I planned on using these to QT the fish going into both tanks in the future. They are all without sand, currently without tops but I plan on changing that.i don't have powerheads in them but can if needed. The sump is a bioball sump with a skimmer and return pump feeding each tank in sucession. I have other small tanks and equipment that I can use and I'm happy to buy whatever is needed. I have very very little experience with any fish treating chemicals, but I'm willing to learn and use them.

I understand the basics of the TTM, but as I understand it, it only treats ick. Is that correct? I also haven't read too much about the seeding of the tank as well as the filtration during this time period. I can put sponges in my display tank to help with the seeding, but remember this tank had ick. I'm rambling, sorry

If you could do any sequence of methods to try and treat all forms of disease what would you do. Money and time are not an issue.

Thank you so much.

Get the two important fish medicine: cupramine medicine, which treats ICK, and prazipro, which treats internal parasites. The directions on the bottles should be pretty straight forward. Treat the QT with prazipro for the first two weeks, then treat cupramine copper after filtering the tank with carbon and doing a few water changes. Use these medicines prophylactically and as precautions for all new fish arrivals. If you want to add fish at separate times, it would be better to separate the three 20L QT's you've set up, or you'd have to add all the fish you want at one time (which shouldn't be too many) or add any new arrivals after the treatment of the current fish is finished. 20L (i think is about 5 gallons?) might be a bit small for quarantining the fish as well. Seeing as you're building a 500 gallon tank, I assume you want bigger fish, like tangs. If so, the quarantine tank should be 20+ gallons.
7 weeks should be long enough for the ICK to die down, as long as you had zero fish in the display tank for that period of time of course. You can seed a few sponges in there for 2-4 weeks, then add them to the filtration system in your QT.

Just an interesting thought, I think if you don't have any inverts or coral in your display tank right now, you can try hyposalinity to kill off any remaining ICK that may be in there; however, you'll have to research that on your own if you're interested because I personally have never tried it before.

Best of luck
