Don't mean to hitchhike... but what is this vinegar test you're talking about?

If it fizzes and bubbles when adding vinegar it contains calcium carbonate based sand.

sanjay.

Well I have yet to find sand that is aragonite based but I found crushed oyster shells sold as a chicken supplement.
That should be fine as a buffer made a couple of test rocks they look good not as poris as I would like so next batch will have noodles in it. I used bread to make caves that worked well but don't leave it were animals will find it and eat the bread out of you rock before it dries. I think I might have killed a raccoon opps!!

Mox I have 4-5 bags of of sand I got from Chase-Pitkin before the closed up...I have used some of each and both have passed the Vinegar test. I live about 1 1/2 hours north of Williamsport in Van Etten, NY. I would be willing to trade you 2-3 bags for some frags. I would be willing to split the difference on travel Let me know.
