i have a 55 gal tank and i am looking to add alot of color and possibly movement. i have a couple soft corals alrready, 2 toad stools, some mushrooms and some zoos. i am already looking into recordia and zoos, i just want some colorful softies. i am looking for corals for every where in the tank besides the two peaks of the rock towers (where the arrows are pointing, i want to keep them open for frogspawn and hammer corals)

and the bottom area thats circled, is there any thing cool i could put there in the sand? if not i know i can put recordia down there and some zoo frags. i have about 5 watts per gallon in my tank right now too for lighting.

thanks for any help you can give :fun4:

you can put acans in the sand bed they like that i also keep my devils hand leather and hammer in the sand as well

Lots of nice softies, if you have a decent actinic lighting (just not yellow lighting). Neon green nephthea/sinularia and neon green polyped toadstools are a couple of easy beginner corals that add nice color.

Mushrooms are a great filler for your tank there are plenty of colorful varieties. how about a brain or candycane they were a couple of my first LPS's and they do very well. the candycanes are pretty hardy , fast growing for an LPS and easy to frag. neon green toadstools are pretty cool and show a lot of movement.

nice tank :) i will look into the candy cane and open brain coral. and i have been thinking about buying some recordia. there is a LFS around here that sells them for 4 of your choice for 30 bucks, and when you buy fish and corals there, you can usualy get him to throw in some for free :D i like the green polyp toadstool, but i already have a brown one :/

Thanks.
Four Ricordea for 30 bucks ,that is a great price. I managed to get them for that price online but I had to buy eight and then pay for shipping which is outrageous. They were pretty small but they grow fast. I noticed you have a brown toadstool but mentioned the green one because I recently bought one and they really standout .
What type of lighting do you have?

idd say acans, brains, scolys, and clams all look really cool on the sand know there not softies but thought idd give my input...

eh. depending on what type of lighting you have clams might not be safe there....

oh, well if i find a green one for a good price, i might have to sell my one of my browns ones haha :D i have power compacts that put out about 245 watts.

i think i am gunna put some recordia, and a small brain coral on the bottom. i love clams but i just dont have the lighting yet. but i will be keeping 2 spots open for them ;)
