Looking for Stocking recommendations

I have a 75 gallon main tank with a 55 sump/fuge, live rock filtration. Currently working

towards a mixed reef at the moment leaning towards softies but currently no livestock or

corals.

I am picking up the first of the clean-up crew this week and starting to think about fish.

We do this as a family hobby so my kids will get some say in the stocking but but I am not

thinking of taking them to the lfs or anything to choose more like I show them pictures of

the fish that are acceptable and they get to choose from the list kinda thing so looking for

a place to start.

I havent gotten myself set on any real type of fish yet, One daughter has already put in a

request for nemo..lol

So for now the considerations will be that they are reef and at least mostly invert safe and

at least one the the fish will need to be nemo looking..lol

Also have a couple of questions on clownfish, How many could be kept in a single tank? which

if any of the different species will pair off? example, Can I get a black and white and and

orange and black and they pair off?

Might also consider a Tang, I will be upgrading the tank within the next couple of years

when I get the fish room going.

Suggestions so far,

Pair of Clowns, Leaning towards percula or ocellaris

For tangs, Havent decided one way or the other yet.Tomini, kole or Yellow

What about a Convict Tang? the requirements look the same although they do get 1 inch larger

then the yellow for adult sized. Looks like an interesting fish.

I am trying to complie a list of maybe around 20 possibles then start having the kids start

making there choices and then have to see which to get and add first

Thanks in advance for your help

most clowns will pair, buy them young and one will become a female and grow larger than the male. It's fun to see them spawn. A yellow tang is very hardy, sixline wrasse. I love the pistol sprimp-goby combo. Lots of other good choices. A Cristmas wrasse is beautiful ,peaceful and hardy.

Just to give you some idea, this is what I have in my 75

Hippo
Maroon Clown
Longnose Hawk
Diamond Goby (Love / Hate Relationship here)
Copperband Butterfly
Six-Line Wrasse
Coral Beauty Angel
3 Green Chromis

Thanks for all the suggestions, with those and some reading I have come up with this list, Anything Stand-out to be a problem?

These are only the choices that I have collected together for my kids to chose from, anything missing you think might fit in with this group?

Any special requirements on these, like should be only 1 per tank or best with 3-4 of them anything like that?

midas blenny 6"
sunrise dottyback 3"
Longfin Fairy Wrasse 3"
Ignitus Anthias 3.5"
Blue/Green Reef Chromis 3"
Black and White Chromis 3"

Royal Gramma Basslet x1 3" If these are chosen it would be Only a single one
Yellow Watchman Goby x1 3" If these are chosen it would be Only a single one
Sailfin/Algae Blenny x1 5" If these are chosen it would be Only a single one

Banggai Cardinal 3", If these are chosen it would be a pair

This is the only one we have decided on right now,
A Pair of Ocellaris Clownfish 3.5"

Out of the 4 Listed below I would only be adding 1 of the 4 as a single if they decide they want a tang

Bristletooth Tomini Tang 7"
Convict Tang 8"
Kole Yellow Eye Tang 7"
Yellow Tang 8"

The sizes listed is what I had found as being listed as there adult sizes

Thanks Again

I have some frags of finger leather and kenya tree to help you get started. They are good beginner corals- they grow quickly and are pretty much indestructable (within reason). Shoot me a PM if you want any.

I wouldnt bother with damsels btw. When they get big they become a PITA. You wont want them any more and youll never get them out without breaking the whole tank down. There are lots of other small fish that will be more enjoyable..
