looking for substrate and live rock

I'm keeping an eye out to buy some crushed coral and live rock. I'm starting a 75 gallon tank, and I don't want to buy brand new from the store again. I don't need that much live rock, I wasn't planning on using it for filtration, so maybe 10-20lbs.

Since the forum PM and email doesn't seem to work I can be reached at peircer2001@yahoo.com

Thanks

I dont know what kind of tank you plan on setting up, but I hear crushed coral is not the way to go.. over time it will collect build up of waste and you may have problems with nitrates/nitrites.

You could use sand from a local hardware store, I know there is debate about doing so, but every post I have read there is always someone that says they havent had any issues... the stuff is very cheap though.

Or you can get crushed oyster shells from a feed store pretty cheap as well.

About the rock.. just keep your eye on this forum.. there is always someone selling every few weeks.

Good luck!

Well, I got some live rock, but I'm still looking for some more. Probably about 20-30 lbs at most. Sorry, Des Moines is too far right now.
