I am starting to get real interested in buying a scoly? anyone know where I would be able to get a nice one without it costing aroung 250? I am looking for the perfect one that really sparks my interest. Thanks

Ummm... The ocean!!!!

For WYSIWYG I think you'll end up paying a bit more and the nice scolys can get a bit pricey. Rarely do you get your cake and eat it too!

Liveaquaria DD is a good place to get quality WYSIWYG items.

I recently saw an add for aquatic auctions. They had some really nice acans and may have scolys at some point. They are an online aution with no reserve price. It looked interesting at the very least.

There was a place that Justin (JohnstonAtoll) brought back some top notch corals from Florida called worldwide corals. You might want to keep an eye out there.

Not to sure on your chances at getting a healthy and nicely colored scoly at a LFS near us.

I so far like the war paint scolys and the either green and pink striped or the green and orange striped.

I see it just sold. Did you buy it Tony?? Wow on the price!! It'll be a while before I invest in any scolys. I'll just be jealous of everyone else until my time comes I guess.

I know Briguy got a scoly several months ago. I'm not sure where he got his but it sure is nice.

yeah, good luck finding a nice scoly for under $200. Even the Ebay ones were going for $150 plus $52 in shipping!

I picked up a nicer scoly at the fosters meet. Was marked wrong price wise :D. I asked Kevin if that was a scoly and he said yes and it was marked at I Think it was 40 or 50. Said I'll give it to you for that price. Its a purplish color with the minty green stripes on it. I will snap a picture one of these days and share. But normally plan on spending 150 or so on a scoly unless you find them for sale locally. Keep an eye on the MARS and WRS site I have seen them on there a couple of different times now.

When I went out to California a couple weeks ago I brought back an awesome scoly for Peter and Chris at Reefs. The thing just glowed bright red. But I am not sure they would be willing to part with it. I also picked them up some chalice and zoanthid frags that will make you drool. I got to cherry pick a few tanks before they were made available for sale at the MAX show. But everything was at full retail prices and most frags were only a couple of polyps each so I doubt they will sell any of it. Most will go in thier personal tanks.

I know Midwest Saltwater had a bunch of bleeding apple and other scoly's the last time we talked. He may still have a couple and he will probably be less than most. I actually have to make a trip down there next wednesday. I can let you know if he still has some. Since he goes to swaps and shows almost every weekend his site doesn't get updated as much as it should. He sells a lot of coral. Also gonna check out Discovery World while I am down there. They are going to be having a frag swap in September on the 19th. I have been told they have a nice little frag tank there.

I was in there last night talking to them and they are nice looking. I asked him how much and he didnt want to really part. Ya know I wouldnt either. I sent you and email to Tony
