thats what i paid, i think you can find used cylinders $10 cheaper online but then you have to pay shipping.

$71 is not a bad price. You can get one cheaper on ebay but by the time you add the shipping your right there or higher.

Is the thread different on the kind of bottle most people use compared to a paintball CO2 bottle. Maybe something else some please explain.

I dunno, isn't a Paintball cylinder like 20oz or something?? A small CO2 tank is 5 LBS, I'm sure the thread is going to be different.
