Looks like I'm in the right place.

I'm new, so bear with me. This forum looks promising though. I originally heard about this site from a coworker. He said it was a great place to pick people's brains about reefs. I'm looking to start a 75G tank. I've been reading a lot of info the past couple weeks. I've gone through many pictures of 100's of tanks in the past few weeks. I've come to the conclusion I like soft coral species and LPS much better than the SPS. If I wanted to do a soft coral 75G with maybe a few LPS.

What are the major differances between how I'd go about setting up the filtration and lighting?

I was looking at metal halides before, now someone turned me on to T5 lights. I have yet to discuss T5 lighting with more than one person.

Also, if anyone can anyone point out some usefull books or websites on soft corals? I'm mostly concerned in understanding many of the food and dosing requirments of corals.

Thanks for any help.

If you're completely new you might want to start with the FAQs section- lots of good info there. I have a soft coral and lps tank that is skimmerless and lit with T5- skimmerless is not always the best option for everyone but softies often appreciate the extra nutrients. Also if you're looking for T5 info check out the T5 Q and A thread- it will blow your mind.

And welcome to RC!
