I have and orange ricordea that is floating loose in my tank. i got it situated so that its not blowing around anymore but i was hoping for some advice on getting it to attach fairly quickly. i read that glue and rics dont really get along so if that is wrong or you have any other ideas then let me know please.

good luck with that one. I hate when that happens they are a pain to get them to stick I usually put some rubble rock in an area of low flow and set the ricordia on it and hope for the best. But hermit, snails, flow, and the ricordia itself makes this method hit or miss.

Im finding out just how hit or miss it is. oh well. ive got him in a lower flow spot on some rock. i just hope it doesnt take a long time to attach.

I think I've read of people using tulle mesh (like bridal vale) and rubber bands to hold the mesh in place. Sometimes with a PVC coupling or similar to keep the mesh off of the polyp. Maybe this is general for any mushroom and not specific for ricordia though. I can't say that I've ever used it.

At one point way back I picked up a lot of loose Rics... I took a drinking glass or a glass jar ,Place that in a decent spot in the tank. (i've seen some people use small tupperware cont.) then would fill it with decent sized pieces of rubble, and drop the ric in ... Eventually it would attatch and be able to be moved back in to general population =0)

Thanks for the idea eric thats a good one. Too bad i lost my ric in the night. floated off somwhere and now i cant find it.

But at least now ill know for next time.
