My name is Lori and I am very new to SW. 7 whole days! haha! Lots to learn. I have a 29g coralife biocube. I have put my substrate in and live rock. I also have a clown fish. I have sense read that the little clown fish is not a good idea for starting a tank. I was going by the advice of the little salt water store I got to. So hopefully nemo will push through other wise I will have 4 sad kids.
I have put in a protein skimmer (chamber 1), Heater (chamber 1), I am using the bioballs set up in chamber 2. In chamber 3 I have sensor for the thermometer the original pump. I have added a power head. and the 4 additional LED's.
So my issue so far is the temp. It sits at 82.2. I have just added a mod I made it is 4 small fans to blow on the 3 chambers. I have it attached to a control that kicks it on at 80 and shuts off at 78. BUT it never turns off. the tank is now always 80 with the fans going. the fans are quiet so that is ok but now I have to top off every day. I am buying my RODI water from the SW Store at $1/5gallons. At this rate I will be spend a lot of time just moving water.
I have some hitchhikers in there. I think 1 bristle worm but have only seen a part of it once. 9 feather dusters, and 4 of a brown coral growing. there is another spot that looks like nothing but has a feeder tentacle that pops up. So I have no clue what it is.
I would love your thoughts, input, and advice. I want to learn as much as I can from others in hopes to make a few less mistakes along the way.
