losing battle

I have been fighting pinched mantle with a clam I have has for 2 months. He started showing signs about 6 weeks ago. I have had to fw dip him 3 times. After his last dip (today) his mantle is withdrawn into his shell. My question is when do you know the clam is gone (dead)??? I have another clam in the tank that is doing very well and I don't want to endanger him. The clam in question still reacts to light and fish.

He is now very slow to react to light and movement

it shouldnt endager the other clam. you will know when it is gone, either the shell will be empty or there will be critters on it ie.. bristle worms, crabs, ect.... good luck

thanks---but PM is transferable between clams. He seem to be doing slightly better

Have you tried running carbon.

I run carbon and a polyfilter.
