Lately I have noticed a reduction of red pigments. The current tank is a SPS tank. The only thing that I have changed lately is a small reduction of water movement. Weekly I am changing 15% of water. I am using TM proreef salt. Other values.

Ca 420
Mg 1400
PO4 0 Deltec test
Nitrate 0
Sr 10
Temp 27 degree Celsius

Light: MH 400W BLV HIT 14000K + 2*39W T5 actinic
Water movement 1*20000l/h Tunze stream, change back to 1*20000l/h + 1+12000l/h yesterday
Tank 100G

I've been having a similar problem and I also have the 400W BLV 14.000K bulbs. I'm wondering if it's the light. The resto of my parameters are very similar to yours.

Thank's

Have you changed the bulb? Do you still have this problem?

lower kelvin will bring out the red...u can try adding a couple white actinics to balance colors...

the color u see depends on reflection of light....moved a green milli from under a 250w 14k MH over 10" to the 10k 250w MH and it is now red in just a few days
