Lost Color

Hi all,

So myself, family and tank survived Sandy and a loss of power foe 6 days. Most things look great. I did however purchase a purple bushy acropora colony a week prior to the storm which is struggling. It came to me a little browned out(divers Den) certainly from that of the picture. While i noticed no improvement or loss before the storm since then it has browned considerably more. While the power was out it got little no light. It has been a week since and I have seen no improvement. If anything it might be a little worse. What do you suggest.

Tank parameters are all fine.

Lighting. 160watts total of of atinic and blue plus 8 hours a day
400 watt 20k halide. 5 hours a day

180 cube, light is about10inches above water. Coral is 15inches below water line.

Thanks for any suggestions

6 days with out power? that sucks. Only thing you can do is hope for the best and give it stable water conditions. How cold did the tank get?

I had an invertor running bar bones for the first two days and then I did have a generator for the remaining. Neither where big enough to run heaters, pumps and lights all together. Its a big setup, 180dt 300gal total with the works in the basement. The tank temp got as low as 70, so not to bad. I've read about others hitting the low 60's..

Well at least you had some juice to the tank. I was wondering how anything could have survived that long with no power. I get worried when I lose power for a couple hours!
