Bummed out right now. Had a really nice looking exquisite in QT that was doing great and eating well.
I had heard wrasses could jump so I put a BRS 1/4'' screen on top of the QT tank that I made to fit snug. I left a small gap in the back for a standard HOB aquaclear filter. There was literally about a 1/2'' gap at one point in between the filter and the screen.
Well I went to top off the QT tonight after feeding and saw the wrasse had squeezed between the filter and the screen top and was laying on the screen above the water. Sadly he was dead by the time I saw him. I didnt know that these fish could find such a small gap. Sad moment, just wanted to pass along the experience so no one else makes the same mistake/ unnecessary loss. :sad1:
