lost interest + no time = selling stuff

i have lost interest in finishing up my build :(

that coupled w/ little time to work on it & the possibility that i might be moving in a few months has led me to the decision to sell off the better part of the equipment. for now, i'm gonna put the tank, stand & canopy away (might end up storing it in a friend's garage) & just keep my nano running for the time being.

here is the sale thread on the stuff

not getting out completely, but i need to concentrate on other things at the moment, so the tank needs to be put on the back burner

I can almost set my watch by when you start and sell a project. :D

Just messin' with ya man. ;)

i know....i go all out for awhile then just lose interest. have a friend that might be moving in, so i need to free up some space & the tank/canopy/stand has just been sitting in the middle of the floor & i never feel like messing w/ it anymore :(

I hear ya, tho, man. What I do is change interests. I don't completely lose interest, but I focus on different hobbies at different times. To be honest, reef keeping is the one hobby I've stuck with the longest and the most consistently, right beside music. :)

FWIW, if you get bored, check out your Myers/Briggs personality profile. Mine actually points out that I enjoy complex hobbies and don't stick with them long! I'm betting yours may say the same. ;)

I need to take that profile/test, I'm HORRIBLE about starting new hobbies all the time. In the last year alone, I've started into model rocketry (and pretty much stopped it again), autocrossing (never really gotten started), 4 wheeling (found out I don't liking breaking things), and start hiking seriously again. Plus tons of other stuff.

Sounds about right. :D

I would bet you're close to an ENTP, Matt. ;)

Check it out.

EDIT: An excerpt:

"ENTPs are less interested in developing plans of actions or making decisions than they are in generating possibilities and ideas. Following through on the implementation of an idea is usually a chore to the ENTP. For some ENTPs, this results in the habit of never finishing what they start. The ENTP who has not developed their Thinking process will have problems with jumping enthusiastically from idea to idea, without following through on their plans. The ENTP needs to take care to think through their ideas fully in order to take advantage of them."

I don't know about you, but that is me all the way. I can't tell you how many aquariums, studios, guitar rigs and computers I've "put together" on spread sheets. And I think I've had one aquarium and one computer actually come out of all of it.

yep, that sounds about right. I have at least 2 spreadsheets of fish room ideas, and 3 or 4 google sketchup drawings of tanks/rooms, stuff like that. I'm horrible at stuff like that.... anyway, sorry to step int your thread, sorry to hear you are selling a lot of stuff.

yeah, i have all these ideas & i change my mind several billion times before i end up doing something LOL

biggest problem right now is i just don't have any motivation to do anything w/ it & the fact that me & a friend might be moving to a different place end of the summer or so has made me not want to get into doing anything w/ it only to have to break it down in 4 or so months

I believe it was the Myers/Briggs (or some other similar psychology test) that said my ideal occupation would be a park ranger... so, I am in the wrong profession... but there might be something to it :)

 Mr. Psychology has to come in and ruin it. :p

And are you sure you didn't get your results mixed up with Moriah's? ;)
