Lost male black clown

I Lost male black clown from a mated pair. If I add a new small black clown will the female mate up?

Make sure it is a juvenile and you shouldn't have a problem. It may take a little while though so just make sure she doesn't pick on him too bad (female clowns can be nasty sometimes).

Thanks. It is a nine foot tank. I have a mated pair on other side. I hope male stays with lonely female

It sounds like the mated pair are starting to pick off the others. When they mature, they'll attack & kill any others they percieve as a threat; & you'll end up w/ one pair anyway...You may have better luck since it's a 500gal system, but be forewarned....

The other pair stopped laying 8 months ago when I added this pair. I lost my male Cus I pulled him out long story but I killed him
