Lost my female clown

The male is clearly confused and hangs by the area of the tank where I found the dead fish. There were no signs of it being sick, in fact they both ate well just the day before. My question is if I get another female will the clowns bond again?

And just a few due later, the other one is gone, like I can't even find a carcass. Could a fully grown pistol shrimp actually take out a clown if it was trying to host in a cave where the shrimp is presiding?

the chances of it happening are slim in my eyes but hell ive gotten hit by one of those pistol shrimps and it isnt pleasant at all so im presuming it could trauma the fish to the point of death.

I highly doubt it was the shrimp. They're not capable of killing a fish unless the fish is sick or near death.

I didn't think so, outside of the human side of a broken heart, these fish were constantly swimming around, found a corner of the tank they liked, ate very well, and showed no sign of any disease. My royal gramma is just fine. These things happen however it's easier to deal with if there were visible signs.

One other thing. Could vermited snails also be a source for fish death? Just checking all angles.
