Lost my female clownfish

My female clown jumped out of the tank last night and I found her on the floor this morning.

I have a biocube 29 that I bought from some one about 3 weeks ago. I have been using the lid and stock lights up until 3 days ago. I removed the lid and made a mount for the upgraded lights that the previous owner had been using for about a year. Now I guess I'm going to have to make a screen/lid so I don't lose any other fish.

The remaining male clown seems a little lost so I'm going to look to find another clown for the tank. Have a few questions about adding a new fish?

1) should I get 1 more fish and add it to the tank with the existing clown? Or should I get a pair of clowns and trade in the one I have?

2) if I keep the one I have and add another is there any type of clown I should look for over another type?

3) I don't have access to a QT tank so how should I go about adding new fish? And I will prob have to purchase from online so is there any sited that would be recommended? The closest LFS that I would trust is over 2hrs away and not sure when I could get there.

4) what are the step to acclimate the new fish to the tank?

Thanks in advance for any help and if there's anything I'm missing please let me know.

1. Either option is fine, loans do not need to be kept as a pair. Due to the extra aggression from being a mated pair many reefers prefer to only keep a single clownfish in small tanks like yours.
2. Since the clown you have is a male you can either add a larger female or another male that is preferably smaller than your current male. There is never a guarantee that any two clownfish will accept one another, they may fight to the death. If you do add a second clown be sure it is of the same species.
3. I would strongly recommend getting at least a 10 gallon tank to use as a quarantine tank.
4. Check out the sticky at the top of this forum on acclimation

i think your best bet, for having two clowns, would be to get a known pair and try to trade yours to help curtail the cost.

I added a mated pair when my female jumped. I now have a small male living in my overflow, and the female bonded with my other larger male. They both picked on the smaller male from the supposed bonded pair until he jumped in my overflow.

I rescued him several times, but the 2 larger clown beat him up severely. He then jumps back into my overflow. So I just leave him there now.

If I were to do it again, I would have traded in the existing male, and just brought the mated pair into the display.
