Lost one, buy another?

About a week and half ago I bought two small (1 1/2" & 3/4") juvi ocellaris clowns and have them in a QT tank. After a few days of having them home the larger of the two showed signs of having internal parasites and did not respond to treatment and passed sometime today. The smaller one showed signs also but responded well and appears to be fine.

They paired up pretty quickly and the smaller one that is left was definitely the submissive one. I would like to get another one but want to make sure I don't screw up or cause problems with the one that's left. The plan is to get another one the same size as the one that passed. Will that work?

If they paired and the larger of the 2 passed, IIRC you can pair up the smaller with another male and let nature take its course. Im still pretty new to this but i do believe this is what i have read about ocellaris while reading up about clowns.

I believe the formula : birth to 1 year = unsexed >>> both become male >>> larger becomes dominant and takes the one-way leap to female. Male remains male until paired with another male, where the larger will once again establish dominance and become female.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong on this.

Thanks. I had read that on here also but could not find it again and just wanted to make sure. Since I posted this I did find it and you're right on the money. Thanks again.
