Lost skimmer cup lid

During a recent move I lost the lid to my skimmer cup. It is older and discontinued. (Elos ns1000) should I leave the lid off or use some cling wrap...

Strange question I know.

Part of collecting the skimmate is for the bubbles to pop and hit the cup lid and stay inside . Otherwise you will be spraying skimmate all over your stand

The saran wrap and a rubber band was the first thing that popped into my mind. It's definitely worth a shot until you can find a permanent solution. GL.

Maybe a plastic lid from a coffee can or can of peanuts for example? Maybe the lids from Tuooerware containers would work. You might be able to fabricate s a little clip or just use something to weigh it down. Cling wrap & a rubber band sounds workable too.

A more elaborate plan would be to buy some modeling clay that fires hard in a kitchen oven and make a replacement.

Mine will spray junk too without a lid.
