Lots of Bubbles - Please advise

Hi Roger,

First Question:

I just purchased the TS24 kit to replace my closed loop as i was getting lots of micro bubbles from the closed loop. Surprisingly, after installing the streams two days ago, the micro bubbles have increased a lot in the tank as they became finer in size but much more in quantity (millions of them) .

My tank is 72"x30"x24
ALK 10dkh
ORP 420
bubbles do not increase as the day progress
I do not have many corals yet
The middle of the powerhead is 6" below surface

Please advise as I was already fitup with the bubbles and thought the Tunze is the solution.

Second Question:

When I mounted the streams as shown in the catalog back corner facing middle front, all of the sand moved from the front to the back. Any other second best mounting location?

Are the streams sucking in any air at any time from the surface? Make sure the solid part of the guard is facing up.

The solid part is facing up and I do not see it sucking air at all.

Could it be the air bubbles that were there from before I changed over from closed loop that still circulating??

As DC321 said. The only other possibility is the air in the pump, I can't think of anything else that would cause this on a brand new pump. As for the sand, this is a potential issue with fine sand, i would try moving the pumps or changing the diection as well as reducing the power to help with this problem.
