Love My Kessil A360W

One of my variable voltage Galaxy ballasts recently went out so I decided to replace it with a Kessil. I have it set to 50% power and all I can say is wow I really like this light. The right side of my tank is primarily zoas and under the kessil they are thriving. The size of the polyps themselves seems like they have doubled. Perhaps they look better because I had too much light with a 250 watt Radium bulb over them. Whatever the reason I am not sure. The point I am trying to make is if you want to switch to LED and are thinking about a Kessil, you will not regret it. It's only a matter of time before I switch over the left side over. Every day my trigger finger at amazon gets itchier and itchier.:lolspin:

I struggled with algae for the first year or so. I used BRS dry rock as the base and didn't cure it at all. Live and learn on that one. With the help of a lot of water changes and Seachem Phosguard I solved that problem. I know its aluminum base and use at your own risk but it never hurt my system.

I see, I will keep that in mind when I setup a new tank. Thanks for the advice.

I have a 29gal with 150w MH fixture, I tried several LED setups for supplementing some blue spectrum on my MH. I finally broke down and got an a360we. I love it. I am kind of a lighting snob, since being spoiled from running MH/LED combo for a couple of years, so honestly the Kessil isn't bright enough on its on, for me anyways. But I absolutely love it at 40%blue 70%power with my 14.5k Megachrome MH. I get crazy growth and its super bright, with a strong blue accent.

I did have to lower my MP10 down a couple of inches because the Kessils have a very strong shimmer when the surface is even slightly agitated.

EasyEd77- Those orange zoas are sahweet! What are they?

Here is my average green dragon eye colony...

Great point. A lot of people don't realize how powerful these lights are. You're one of the few who didn't max it out from the get-go. I started at 75% and had to knock it down. I'm also in love with the Kessil products.. about to get the Amazon sun for my sump
