Low alk/high Mg

I just tested my tank and got some funky numbers. My alk was 7.3 and my Mg didn't titrate on a Red Sea Test kit, meaning its above 1600. I did a water change last week (Fri) with reef crystals, replaced my GFO on Friday, and dumped my skimmate today. Calcium was 350, Sg 1.026. Temp 78.8. I did start running GFO about a month ago due to an outbreak of GHA which is now gone. Its a new tank, my first fish was added May 2015. Right now I have occ. clown, foxface rabbit, allen's damsel, starry blenny, carpenter wrasse, toby puffer, flame angel. Also skunk cleaner and multiple snails. Inverts 1 zoa colony, 1 paly colony, 1 mushroom, 1 small candy cane. How do I remedy this situation? More water changes?

FWIW - last tests before this set were Ca - 395, KH 8.7, Mg - 1320 on 1/13. :hmm5:

Could it be a booboo on the sampling/testing procedure? Could you repeat thise results? If so, did you change the salt batch recently? I have heard of horror stories about defective salt mixes... i would test a fresh batch of saltwater see if you get the guaranteed values

I repeated the tests twice - got 7.3, and then 7.4. Tested batch of Reef Crystals - left over from the last water change and it was 9.1.
