Low down on the new tank, with pics!

Finally figured out how to post pics so it's time to post a little tank bio.

Purchased a 29g bio cube in early december from pet kingdom for $219 (cheapest ANYWHERE, even on-line). Wanted a MH (stock hood had PC's) so I ditched the stock hood and made my own canopy, made my stand as well. Tank equipment specs. are as follow's:

Built in false wall which includes: heaters, custome fuge (In chamber 2 where bio-balls were), and the return pump (MJ 1200). DIY auto top off with 5g reservoir. MJ 600 for flow in the dispay. Soon to add a small canister filter for media filtration.

DIY cutome hood includes: 70 DE MH 14k, 32w actinic PC, 13w 6.5k PC (for fuge), (2) 4" fans.

The tank was supposed to be a zoa only tank but that didn't last long. It is now a mixed reef with SPS, softies, LPS, zoa's, and a clam. But zoa's are dominate.

Now for the PICS!

That's all for now, enjoy!

James, it looks good, real bright too!

You should have pulled out a few more bucks and gotten a bigger frag, they look so cool but small compared to the rest. :)

I got some frogspawn and hammer $5 a polyp. :) and I fragged the Clavularia for you so when ever you are ready call me.

I have a frogspawn from AA but it hasn't opened all the way after 5 days which has me worried (it's in a higher flow area, bad?). I didn't want to robb your tank of the bigger frag. A frag of the clavularia sounds awesome.

I gotta make room for the new shipment.....I'm going to the swap meet on Sunday. I'm getting a clone of my original RBTA back.

You might want to get the frogspawn to a place of mod flow for a while. But it might be all that light you have too.:)

Oh my a hole in my pocket, it must have been a hole cause I don't have any money left.:)

At the swap meet I got a teal green polyp and baby blue tip stag about 3" tall
a clone back of one of my RBTAs
a large rock of nuclear orange and yellow Zoas gonna frag them if you want some.
a small mixed exotic zoas (now that they are open I think I was robbed)
2 purple polyp monties
a 2" gate for the big downdraft skimmer on the 120, and some 2" PVC odds and ends
some back issues of Coral Mag I was missing.

I liked the zoa's he picked up and might have to stop in and get some myself. So take some pics of your system including the stand and hood. I have thought about making my own but since it is a rounded tank I have not gone there yet. I hate the heat my system puts off now and want to mod it up. I am curious how you did yours?

PS how does that MJ600 work out between your overflow ports? I would also like to see how you modded the back chambers. For now I have 10lbs of LR rubble in chamber two with my heater in chamber one and the mj1200 in chamber three. I also have a Fluval 405 pulling from chamber one and returning to chamber two which puts it through all the LR rubble as well. Although I am thinking of moving the return to the display for added flow and to lower my water level in the back chambers. I also added a nice Hydor to the return for a wavy flow but Greg says all of his burn up quickly on his mj1200s so I am waiting for that to happen to mine now.

Sweet looking setup, James!

You got me in the mood to get off my keester and finish setting up my 44g pent again. Once the waters warm up a bit more, it's seining time! :D

my camera is a cheap sea life DC 600, it's just that I have an underwater housing for it. Camera and housing is $500 at scuba quest, could probably find it even cheaper on-line.

o2zen, I PMed and e-mail you about the clowns.....
