Low flow on an RO/DI

I recently picked up a 75gpd RO/DI unit and cant seem to get any flow out of it. I might on the outside be getting 1/4 gph out of it right now. I am running it off of my outside faucet on what should be my pre pressure regulator line. The pressure sits at around 10psi with almost no flow to the outlet and a fairly steady flow to the waste outlet. I'm almost wondering if I might have received a unit that was plumbed wrong or something. Can anyone provide me with any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong or what might be wrong with my unit? Thanks.

Restrict the waste outlet with a small in line valve. Had the same problem. With no restriction on outlet the water all goes to waste. You need to give it a reason to go through the membrane. Be sure to get a tds meter, and adjust the waste valve until you're getting 75gpd. This worked for me. HTH

most RODI units are rated for x gals at 70 psi in at a temp of 70
in your case 75 gpd with 70 psi in with a water temp of 70
