i have 3 colors of mushrooms that are the same in looks size and texture but the pink ones with white stripes are different.they shrink during the day and double in size at night, all night.all others get big during the day as normal.has anyone ever had mushrooms behave this way? they are not new to the tank.i was given one red one and it multiplied bleached then turned pink with white stripes and is staying this way for over 6 months.i now have 7.

Maybe for whatever reason the mushrooms in question are using alternative methods for feeding; phyto, zooplankton, etc.? - Instead of relying on photosynthesis? Maybe you can try to slowly move them into higher light. They are reproducing though, so that is a good indicator to me.

you no what...i don't know what those mushrooms issues are liking the dark, but i do think they are very nice looking and it isn't too often you get a nice coral to look at in the dark so just don't stress it!

mushrooms generally prefer medium to low light. some species are more tolerant to low lights than other.
you should be happy that your shrooms are low light oriented, easier to maintain.

i have rhodactis shrooms and ricordea that do the same, i have to keep them on bottom or in shaded area and i keep them under t5's.
