Lowering teh water level for teh wave box

I have an acrylic overflow and need to drop it down 0.75 inches so teh wave box will function right when I set it up. The roto zip tool is out because that thing just chews and looks ugly when its done. I tried a dremel but none of teh bits I have will do this efficiently. I used a hand file as well and needless to say it will take forever :)

any suggestions?

Try a little trim router with a straight bit chucked up in it. Attach a straight edge somehow to your overflow for a guide. The small size of the trim router will make it easier to fit in cramp quarters. If you can get away with using a full sized router you would be better off since it would be more stable.

I used a dremel and ended up off set a bit to the right but I think it will be fine.

I need to trim a bit off a few projection on the reef ceramics the box sits between so I can lower it a bit more but I like the way this looks and I think I will love how it works.

The truth is lowering an overflow proved a greater challenge than I thought it would be.
