Lowest light Clam

If you mean the 29g tank you have listed the giga's would outgrow it in a year or less, and your coral beauty angel would probably have to go as they nip clams.

Also, I would not recommend a clam unless you're using MH lighting.

sorry, must disagree. I am keeping a gigas clam that has doubled in a year and a half under 2x48w pc's in a 35g hex tank. MH's would be ideal for a crocea or maxima, but a low light clam that the OP is asking about does not require a MH.

does your t5 have individual reflectors? How many bulbs? If so and has at least 4 bulbs you should be ok to keep all types of the tridacnid clams.

Yes, it is a 4 bulb fixture with individual reflectors. Thats good to know. I'm going to wait about 4 more months until I get a clam and before I do I'm going to replace my bulbs.

tagging along... I have T5s also... and can you tell me how your Coral Beauty does in your reef with all of your corals?

I currently only have some softies and it hasn't touched anything. I've been patiently waiting to add some LPS because I know that if I add some and it nips them I will probably get ride of the angel. I have a feeling that this angel will be ok though.

i have 4 t5's that are on accu start high out put ballasts, in my 29g i used individual ice cap reflectors, i have some pictures in my gallery please check it out and tell me what you think... i jus got a derasa clam, he is looking very beautiful, opening and his colors are amazing.... he is on the sand bed right now, but i plan to move him up in the tank slowly... the next couple of the days...
