Lowest light that an anemone can survive in

I want to konw whats the lowest possible wattage of light i could use for an anemone i have a 90 gallon.

Depends on the type of anemone. Most anemones like strong lighting so I'm not sure why you would want to know the minimum requirement.

It's according to what kind of light you have. A 150 or 175 metal halide would be a good light if it were right over them, not too close though.

In general:
E. quadricolor, S. haddoni (exception for the Blue, Neon antifreeze Green, Purple and Reds), and H. crispa (exception for the rare hot pink tentacled crispas), require the least amount of light.
S. mertensii falls somewhere in between as well as H. malu which likes higher light levels.
M. doreensis, H. magnifica and S. gigantea require the highest light levels.

Btw, the old watts per gallon rule is BS, it doesn't account for depth, light spread, light efficiency, spectrum, par and so on.

I have a feeling that you would like to keep your tank to a budget build. If so, look into the Reef Breeders lights. They are an econo option that seems to be of pretty decent quality, but doesn't have all the bells and whistles. Think Mazda instead of Acura.

Full spectrum leds are pretty cheap and should be enough for a nem.

u can buy t5 4 bulb fixtures at lowes or homedepo for $75 why would u spend $300+

Here is a 165W Dimmable Full Spectrum LED for $83 shipped to your door. I know many people that have them and they work great. When my T5 bulb wear out I'll be buying one of these. You don't have to spend $300 for an LED light. My replacement bulbs cost almost the cost of this one on Ebay
