Loyalsock high school is ready and I did about 200 gallon water change on it yesterday. I will be taking a fish, few frags and corals to it today. I will be adding two boxes of corals to it on Friday and a box of fish on Monday.

hey moe, my kid wants you to set up a frog tank with tadpoles and nutes in it....lol...wow..that would be a change from saltwater to freshwater....think about the setups for those types of tanks...co2 and just crazy powerheads everywhere and bubble sandstones everywhere with undergravel filters....thats like a whole different ballgame...thank god i went with saltwater....im happy with the expensive stuff....lol...im gonna look for the loyalsock pics...

spoon i have a frog tank set up about 1/3 water and 2/3 land
i have 2 firebelly toads, 2 northern frog like the ones u catch around here, a plain old horn toad also cought local hes a pig, 2 fire belly newts, a bristle nose pleco, a spoted rapheal,a striped rapheal, a mess of rams horn snails i got from rose valley lake along with some mosses, and several plant i bought at lowes.
been up and running for about a year now and nothings died and all i do is add water it dosent smell or any thing i was realy suprised that it was so little maintenace toss in about 50 crickets every month and a lil fish food.

if you wanted i could set a tank up for ya save mo the time i had a 55 gallon tank i was going to set up for a buddy in the same manner but it looks like he not interested being that he just got DUI number 3 and need to pay off fines and stuff but i made a nice hood for it it dosent need any special lighting just a couple of plant bulbs i am not looking to get much money out of the tank stand and hood i even have plastic i can put in to sperate the water from the land

only problem is the 55 is holding my fish over till i get a new 75 gal to move it back over so it might take a lil time. but if your interested gimmy a hola

ya know i have an extra 29 gall tank...but if you have all the extras i could mention it to the wifey see what she says, cuz my little girl wants frgs and nutes andeverything....i dont even have a clue on really what types of filtration and heaters or anything so maybe you could fill me in on the types of pumps and filtation and heat and just everything i guess before i made any sort of drastic move like startin freshwater...maybe it doesnt need much..ii dont have a clue...strictly saltwater here...but i could always start another tank, i have all the grow bulbs 4 on top of a 29gall should work..i have all the powerheads and filters and fluvals and crap who knows i might not even need anything....hmmm, let me know what im gettin into...oh and how much you want for this stuff ill take it set it up ? like i said i have what all is involved with freshwater and stuff ill have to look into it somewheres

well all i want is basicly what i have into it the tank and stand ran me 70 bucks and the hood is only a hood nothing in it but looks nice with the stand all black look in my gallery for a photo only looking for what i have in wood 30 bucks. i can silicon in a baffle to hold back water. and i have about a 2 gallon bucket of florite that will help provide live plants nuriousment without adding any chemicals that would harm the frogs. you can mix any type of sand gravel whatever ya want with it that wont hurt anything so long as its clean. i have a couple of chunks of drift wood you can have and rocks. you wont need a heat lamp or a heat rock unless you want to get crazy frogs/lizards that would need a complete diff enviroment than newts need. as for a filter you could cut the tank witch is a pain and will cost ya i would get an in tank filter that pumps the water up and out so you can make a water fall of some sort with some rocks. as for frogs id have to ask the wife but i might be able to give ya a couple i have i can catch more in summer time when i go fishing. taking the kids out and gathering mosses and plants was the most fun i think i have had with my son and since it started snowing hes been asking when we can go catch bugs again. even though he just want to point them out and make me fetch. i also have glas tops for the 55 that i am using at the moment but id toss them in for an extra 10 spot they were unbelivably expensive considering all they are but i would keep them cracked open for some circulation or the tank will get smelly. but honestly i have onlt done one water change in a year i just keep adding water to it i dont have a light fixture but the one from your 29 gall hood should work fine they dont need much lighting mostly for the plants if you get firebelly toads they are some of the cheaper and nicer looking toads and they arent Loud my horn toad can get annoying at times but as a rule hes calm. ah did i miss any thing when i set up my frog tank i also had a fresh water tank set up the frog were much more interesting to watch than the freash water fish but no contest to a saltwater tank.

u might be able to use that magnum for the filter but thats a bit of over kill also maybe willing to trade for stuff u have i am in need of several powerheads and a larger pump that would do around 600 gph gimmy a hola

ok, i went out to the shed, i have 2 powerhead swivelheads 395gph then i have 2 402 powerheads i forget those rating then i also have a maxi jet 900 everything is new so they should last awhile...i also have a dual bio wheel filter brand new used for about a week..the hot magnums are rated at 350 gph i beleive but after you use the diaton powder it slows to about 100gph...i dont have any mag pumps so the 600 i can help u with....i am gonna look into the frog tank setup do some research a little bit, ill get back to you but my girl wants me to get it..women...they dont understand the complexity of things sometimes, so ill do some research and get back with you on that...

no problem sounds good bring the power heads to the meeting if ya would ill certianly pick a couple up off ya maybee all of em

yea ill bring them to the meetin , i am bringing another child to this meeting hes 14 thinks hes ganster but hes interested in saltwater ....i try teachin about a few things but hes the type to ya know do things whens he wants to, but makin an effort to go to one of these meetings, i think he will have fun
