I was noticing that also jasper, the chunks almost look like lava rock.

for the substrate.. not really sure what it was.. it's a combo of black and white rocks... I've had it for atleast 3-4 years now though since the first time we set up the nano...

lighting consist of 96w Quad PC only.. will be upgrading later on..
