LPS coral propagation without fragging?

Hi guys, I have a question about a favia I have. It is basically fully grown onto the rock it is currently on right now. I want to have this coral grown on a larger area (the rock is small) and am wondering if there is a way to do it without fragging (cutting into the coral). I'm not intimidated by the thought of fragging, I'm just curious if I do something such as epoxy a rock to the coral (kill 1 head), will the coral spread or die?

Also, any other non cutting methods.

A favia will continue to build its own skeleton..
A little unclear about what you really want here..

Ooops, sorry. I'm new to LPS. I thought that it would need more rock to grow on?

A stony coral 'grows' its own rock out of the calcium you provide. And light. That's what builds ocean reefs.
