LPS feeding question

First: is it possible to feed an acan to much. If I fed my acan every night would that be to often, and what negative affect would that have, because I just think it is the coolest thing to watch it eat the mysis shrimp.

And secondly: my red open brain coral is beautiful, plumps up during the day time, and just looks great but it has never sent out feeding tentacles, is this something that it just isn't going to do or something I can train it to do? Any help would be awesome, thanks!

I would say you could train the brain to eat. I recently got one, and the only time I can feed it is at lunch time (it's at my office). After about 4 or 5 feedings around noon, he regularly sends out his feeders around that time.

Have you tried feeding it otherwise? I place the top of a 2-liter bottle over him so the food doesn't get stolen or blown away. Within a couple of minutes, he's opening up to eat.
