Well a little about the Tank . The 29gal was started back in 1995 . it went through many changes . It Was a mixed reef with lots of softies and LPS. 2 years ago I got hooked on SPS corals . I was running the tank with a berlin sump with a CPR overflow . 6 months ago I changed the sump with a DIY 20gal refugium sump using a Jebao 6000 return pump and Bubble magus NAC3.5 skimmer . Two months ago Pet Smart had their 1dollar a gal sale on aquariums so I decided to redo the tank . It is now fitted with a glass=holes overflow and drilled return . I added new sand to the bottom of the tank . I used 80% of the rockwork since the corals were attached . The problem I had was 1/3 of the tank had hundreds of mushrooms ! Now 99% are gone . The only fish I have in the tank is a clownfish which I raised from a larvae 3 years ago . It`s the only baby left from hundreds raised . For flow in the tank I use 2 jebao wp 10`s . the tank is monitored with a Seneye reef monitor which also has a built in PAR meter . For lighting I am using a Led light from REEF RADIANCE ,DM 165P+ which is programmable . Light is mounted 10 inches above the waterline .

I will soon , Most of the corals sps are in my 60 gal their new home . this tank is a work in progress now . I added three pieces of marcos rocks to the back wall and are still white , so the tank looks ugly ! Hope to get some frags next week to cover most of it :)

Here`s my RODI unit the I just converted to a 150gal/day.I got the conversion form BRS.

Here`s my DIY 20gal sump which is in my closet ,very tight fit to work in !

I use Kalkwasser in my ATO .I run GFO through a Two Little Fishies reactor and use a CPR Biopellet reactor for carbon .

Since Mark from ME Corals told me to use Kalkwasser in the ATO and not chase numbers things have started to grow . All those frags last year were only an inch long . I`m using NSW but might experiment with the mixed stuff now that I have new setup with the RO unit . But Eddie still nothing like your awesome tank !

Good Luck... Looking good. Kalk is an amazing tool and a requirment for SPS and overall stability (my opinion).

IMHO Matt- Kalk is only a requirement until your tanks demand exceeds the kalks capabilities of keeping up. At that point another method of dosing becomes necessary. I prefer 2 part, some like Ca reactor.

For last 8 years i do Kalk for all evaporated water ( but that cant keep up with my tanks demmands), and 2part via dosers (but did it manually for years before dosers).

Eddie, just curious...how much does your tank evaporate daily or weekly ?

Well getting ready for the swap tomorrow :

Here`s my Tank Shots before I will be adding new pieces :

Looks like it`s doing better since I`m dosing some Zeo products :

My little friend wanted to say HELLO

I added a flush kit to my RO system this week , now should get better RO water by flushing the system before making the RO water .

Here`s the full tank shots : today PH 8.13 Temp 76 F, 24.6C,Ammonia.0001
