It is a type of Lobophyllia... or open brain... they used to differentiate as Trachy... Lobo... ect. But I guess that now they are all just Lobophyllia...

Lobos are not my specialty though and Ive been wrong before so lets see if the Lobo experts do any better?

Thanks Clayton/Kat/Doc.
So a Pectinia sp from the family Pectiniidae or a Merulina sp
(Merulina ampliata) from the family Merulinidae - a lettuce/cabbage/antler coral guys ? High light, mid placement and medium flow suitable ? Have it on the substrate at the moment under 250W MH's.

This would make this an SPS not LPS then ?

I would also say Pectinia.

It looks very close to this Pectinia lactuca.

Characters: Colonies are submassive or form thick plates and frequently exceed one metre across. They have elongate valleys and walls of relatively uniform height. Most valleys can be traced from the colony centre to the margins. Colour: Uniform grey, brown or green. Similar species: Pectinia maxima. See also P. ayleni. Habitat: Most reef environments, especially lower reef slopes and turbid water habitats. Abundance: Common.

Source reference: Veron (2000). Taxonomic reference: Veron and Pichon (1980). Identification guides: Veron (1986), Nishihira and Veron (1995).

Corals in the Pectiniidae Family are considered LPS.

Also, they can get long sweeper tentacles at night.
