LPS/SPS are Good -- Can't Keep Softies Happy

SkullV

They Got My Number
Anyone know why this would be? All of my LPS/SPS are looking good but I can't seem to keep soft corals or zoas happy. My tyree toadstool regularly retracts all of it's polyps and I have lost one complete zoa frag and half of another.

Params:
  • Ammonia - 0
  • Nitrite - 0
  • Nitrate - 0
  • Calcium - 400 (little low)
  • dkH - 7
  • pH - 8.2

I will say it's been about 2 weeks since I did a 5g water change in my skimmer less nanocube so that MIGHT have something to do with it. I have been getting lazy getting stuff together for a tank upgrade.

What type of light do you have? I've been burning a lot of my soft corals under 250w mh light. They actually grow faster for me under less light. Don't know what happened with your toadstool as it should like more light? My guess would be some kind of infection. As far as zoas go some like more light, some less. It is not phosphates, because sps would NOT look good in high levels. Maybe one of you fish likes softies? Good luck!

6 bulb T5 fixture. I moved the flow around a little bit and the toadstool is looking better. I'm just going to sell off all the zoas as they are a waste of space in a tank as small as mine (24g nanocube).
