LR holdover

I put all my LR in a rubbermaid tub in my basement and put powerheads and a heater in there too.
It is starting to smell pretty damn bad.-- I have some plastic tarp over the top of it.

What should I do?

I left my skimmer in columbia-- should I just change the water?
