I plan to quarintine a lawnlower blenny that im getting for my tank in hypo. Should a piece of LR with some hair algea do ok in hypo then back to my main tank?

Im sure all of your benificial bacteria and anything else in the rocks will die off in the lower salinity. This might spike the water rather badly. The hair algae might die off as well.

The liverock will die and mess up your Hypo process. Not sure about the hair algae. Have you got him to eat anything else? Frozen foods?

I didnt buy him yet. Wanted to be all set before i bring him home. Ill just do bare bottom and try to see if i can feed other foods.

I doub't all the bacteria will die. Some will - if all died then it was impossible to QT fish in hypo since there would have been no nitrification enablers, thus killing the fish with ammonia.

However you will loose all inverts/creatures on the rock - except most algae.

That being said however, it is only my nonscientific experience talking...
