Lta Moving !!!!!

Shoot I just woke up this morning to my LTA not in the same old place he is always in....

He is now about 18 inches above the place where is originally was....

But now he is right above my and actually touching the stalk of my toadstool or was it mushrrom coral ....Should i be concerned...

But even before the LTA came in contact with my leather...The leather did seem a little sluggish and did not look like its old self...I just think the leather is just rejuvinating itself or possibly going to shed its skin like most leathers periodically do...

But, I just want to make sure if it is problem or not...It doesent seem that the Leather is shutting down or anything....

Do Leathers even feel the sting of A LTA....

And when I mean they are touching...THE LTA IS smothering the stalk of the leather...

I think the LTA just wanted some flow...

If it wants flow, give it what it wants. Anemones will move if they become unhappy with the condition. They love flow.

My anemone has touched my Toadstool for short periods of time with no harm done. (I move it.) From what I understand SPS are more prone to harm from anemones. I don't keep any SPS in the same tank as my anemone.

But still It would be advisable to move it somewhere else...

I look at it and the LTA is tottaly smothering the base or stalk of the leather with its tentacles...And at most around 12 hours of contact....

Anemones will move all the time if they cant find a happy spot. Thats why I dont like to keep them any more.

Leathers tend to shed everyonce in a while so if the look bad a few times out of the year thats probably whats happening

That is what they do.....if you want him in a particular spot, you need to provide him with the flow and lighting he needs to stay put.

Don't move him and let him be, however if he continually wanders you will need to rethink your set up and upgrade your lights or flow or water quality. If they move that is a clear sign they are not happy and will wander the tank insearch of that place and die from starvation most of the time. The typical senario is someone not having adequate lights and then they start doing this. But I seem to remember you having MH lighting correct? I would check your water, esp ALK.

Well everything seems to be fine now...I moved the Toadstool anyways...Afterall, when I got him from minh I just put him on the bottom on the sand...i figured if he is going to move he would go up....But he stayed in the sand for the 4 some months and now just moved up about 12-18 inches away from his previos spot...I think because on the bottom I didn't really have much flow anyways...Maybe perahps he moved...

So Right now he/she looks fine and okay...There should be lots of flow from my return pumps and he/she is right under my left 175 watt MH....
