LTB Southdown sand

I'm sure it might be similar. Just unsure of the cost. The southdown was always super cheap in comparison as long as you could find it

I'm not sure if mine qualifies as SD, but look at Marco Rocks.. The sand I got from him is super fine, but real nice.. price is right too.

I'm in the market again as I'm getting closer to starting the display back up. Anyone have a bead on Southdown?

as far as I know the reef sand is no longer being sold at homedepot and other building supply stores because its not "environmentally friendly" It used to be sold as white play sand but now all they sell is the yellowish stuff that looks horrible under water and full of silica, Identical to crap you can shovel yourself at the lake.

Best option you have is to score some sand on here. Its often sold by the bucket and really cheap if not free

Eric, call Jeremy at PA, he will know what the similar/same is. How many lbs do you need?

southdown was made by old castle, its been quite a few years since they stopped making it.
I've seen old castle occasionally at hardware stores but have not purchased sand in about 10 years so wasn't really paying attention as to where. ya like $4 bucks a bag vs 20-30 its worth looking around if you need a lot of sand.
