lumenarc or lumenmax?

Is one better than the other?
I'm considering both the SE and DE models...

I prefer the lumenarcs for a few technical reasons, like the lumenarc DE being 14x14 and the lumenmax3 being only 11x11 (barely larger than a Reef Optix3!)... I mean, if you are going to go with a high-spread reflector... 11x11 isnt much.

The other reason is because SLS sucks in so many ways these days. Their customer service, their Tek2 reflectors, etc...

What balast would you go with on the Lumenarc III DE?
I was thinking the Galaxy from SLS.

Decide which bulb you want to run and then find a ballast that best fits that bulb.

I was considering the Ushio 14K, but I want the flexibility to change if I don't like if or the growth is not what I'd expected.

What is the best "all purpose" DE ballast?

I think the Pheonix 14k de is the highest par( for a 14k) in the 250/w range and people rave over it. the SLS Galaxy is also a great choice it runs both DE and SE so you can switch back in forth just need to change mogul

There isnt really an 'all purpose' ballast when it comes to DE. All 250wattDE bulbs are HQI rated, and so all you need to do is get a HQI/M80 ballast. PFO makes the best IME, but there are many.
