Are these fish reef safe? I have someonr that wants to give me one that is about 4 inches.. Can someone give let me know.,.

While they'll typically leave most corals alone, everything else, including any inverts and other smaller fish, are fair game.

I had one in a FOWLR and they are highly aggressive. It won't bother corals but you can forget about keeping any type of cleanup crew. Any fish smaller than it and anything added after they are established will be a goner too.

I have a juvenile that will eventually move to bigger quarters, young ones tend to be well-behaved. Mature males on the other hand...
Plus, they are hyper-active. I mean REALLY hyper. LOL
They might injure small frags. Plus any small crustacean added after they are established is lunchmeat.

I remember the days when mine was a few inches and cute! Still a very cool fish but as mischievous as they get! Mine would harrass other fish and pluck turbos off the rocks for sport! They never stop moving until nighttime and then they are out for the night to get the energy to do it all over again!

Had a 4 inch one that had a 3 snail/hermit crab a day habit. Nice fish but he had to go.

Didnt touch my corals but any invert was fair game

Super-duper hyper aggressive. Though they are beautiful as adults, and I love the one I have. I just wouldn't put one in a reef. Mine was the boss in an aquarium with a Passer Angel, Miniatus Grouper, and a Golden Heart Trigger before the tank got wiped out by Marine Velvet. By the way the Lunare Wrasse was the only thing that survived the outbreak.

they also will flip anything that they can looking for pods and critters on the bottom of rocks and they are very boisterous in doing so . not a good choice IMO as the also will demolish your clean up crew very quickly ,especially at that size .

Mine is still too small to do much flipping of rocks..
Other than darting in & grabbing food out of the mouths of 3 very aggressive feeders, She(?) causes no problems.
Like I said, I got her with the long term goal of a larger tank.
