i just fond out that my clown fish has Lymphocystis and not ich. the lfs that i bought the fish at told me not to worry about it that it is not contagious, however i just read that it is contagious and other fish can catch it and its a viral decease so its not curable. Does any one know anything about it and what should i do?

Lympho is a viral disease that is only contagious within the same species. Because its a virus there isn' any current med that is going to have a significant impact on it. Lympho isn't fatal unless it gets in the gills and with a bit of luck, good water and food - will go away on its own.

it looks like the coral beauty i have has a dot on it that looks the same as what the clown has. and i am only going by what the lfs says being that it is lympocystis. he said like 6 fish in that shipment had it. so it should be curable if thats what it is? and is it possible that it can travel to other species? i read that it transmits by contact?
