Lymphocystis

I had a Blueface with lymphocystis really bad in the DT tank. It was the diamater of a quarter coin an stuck out about 1/4" . After removing him to quarantine, sedating him with clove oil and surgically removing the lymphocystis he is now fine. About 10 days has passed since surgery. I need to make room in my quarantine tank where he is now. Has anyone had lymphocystis re occur on the same fish. My understanding is that they build immunity to it and the fungus/ virus that causes it is species specific? Any thoughts

Good water quality and nutrition will keep it from reoccurring

I agree. Lympho is a virus and can affect any species.

Nice job with the surgery,
I've done this with stubborn lympho and a couple of good size tumor-like growths without problems. Most folks. I suspect, would never try this.
