Lymphocytis virus

Hi I have did searches about everywhere I know to do searches and can't come up with anything on the Lymphocytis virus. I have been told it likes CB butterflies. I just bought one a feww weeks ago and he is in QT and doing fine other then he has a few what I thought was fungal spots on the edge of a few fins. I have heard that this could be Lymphoctis virus and that you have to catch the fish and manually remove these spots. I have treated with Marycin and marycin2 and maroxy and nothing has changed, so I don't think it is a fungal problem. Anyone have any ideas or links to where I can find out how to diagnose this virus and what to look for. Thanks

IT is also called the cauliflower disease. A tuft on the edge is the sign.

A virus. No drug available.

Correct use of UV and excellent water quality and nutrition.

Recovery is frequent.

Thanks guys, water quality is great and gets fed good. He had a spot or 2 when I picked him up, just thought it was a little fungus and since I QT and use Maracyn and Maracyn2, I wasn't worried since he was a larger specimen and most in LFS are small ones and I had been waiting for a larger one since he well be going in a 240. I am getting him trained onto clams and he is doing fine. Have any of you ever heard of scraping the growths off gently??
steelersfan I can't believe you got those links, because I went to the fish disease forum and did a forum search and it said there was no matches. Thanks again.
