i have a male lyretail anthias that is changing to a purple color. the dots on his side fines are purple and the tips of the rest of his body is purple as well. there is one male and 7 females in the tank. just curious if anyone knows about this.
He's probably just becoming a "SuperMale"... Mine did this when a female changing into a male was added to the tank... They become brighter and a bit more aggressive and show their dominance... They are definately quite pretty... I lost mine when I redid my 120g...
Right but I had mine for close to 2 years. Some are hard to get acclimated to tank life but once they do the hardier types do pretty well. I think they went and hid in other fish's spots when I was messing with the tank and got the heck beat out of them.
I had them a year and a half... The only reason I lost mine is because it hid in a piece of LR and I didn't know it... It was out of water for about an hour while I was redoing the aquascape... Oh well...
