Lyretail Anthias

I got the bug for lyretails now. I would prefer them over the 5 resplendents that I planned. I was curious how many would work in a 125 gallon tank. 5 would be great, but I am not sure how big the females stay or if they get 5" like I know full grown males can get. Would 5 work out long term? Is there a certain collection point where the more purple males come from?

Already Have:
2 B&W clownfish
2 Pylei Fairy Wrasses

Planned fish:
1 Laboutei and Orange back Fairy Wrasse
OR
1 Labbok's and Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse
1 Randall's Watchman Goby
1 Royal Gramma
1 Yellow Tail Damsel
1 Green Mandarin
1 Purple Tang
1 PBT

the lyretails would be fine, however the PBT in your 125 would likely be a problem. it would probably get aggressive and need more tank space.

I think you'll be fine. Be prepared for the additional bioload 5 anthias will add to the system.

I am getting everything worked out for that. 36 gallon fuge with DSB, 3 different macros, GFO reactor, AquaC-EV 180 skimmer, and may do a denitrator of some sort later on if need be. Thanks for the help so far!

I will be thinking about the PBT over a long time period because it is the last addition. None of the fish on the list are set in stone and if needs/wants change I will make the acceptable changes. Thank you for the heads up!

Thanks, I was trying to find one like that. I know there was another thread where someone had a purple male and asked about it, but I can't find that one.
